“A Move and Expansion for a Homegrown Business”

Ten Talent LLC was founded in 2011 by Derby native Brent M. Topham — a 1999 graduate of Derby High School who came home to invest in the community that raised him.
After graduating from DHS, Brent gained hands-on experience rehabbing and remodeling investment properties in the Junction City area. Wanting to bring a higher level of expertise back to his hometown, he attended one of the nation's top training centers for home inspectors — Kaplan ITA in Denver, CO.
Returning to Derby as a trained home inspector, Brent opened First Choice Home Inspections, Inc. and performed over 200 real estate inspections for Derby-area homebuyers. When the market evolved, so did he — pivoting to property preservation and foreclosure rehabbing. Business grew quickly, but Brent saw an opportunity to refocus on what mattered most: serving his neighbors directly.
